“I WANT TO GET IN SHAPE BUT DON’T KNOW HOW TO START”

A question we get asked many times a day.

And we understand, there are a hundred thousand people telling you a hundred thousand things.

This is actually THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION.

Because STARTING ANYTHING is the hardest part.

Should you do HIIT training? Lifting? Running? CrossFit? Jiu Jitsu?

Should you go Keto? Vegan? High carb low fat? Low carb high fat? Intermittent fasting?

It’s confusing.

Here is the thing. Especially when starting out, 95% of all of that is bullsh*t.

If you are starting from zero, or close to it, only THREE things matter: a half decent diet, moving your body, and CONSISTENCY.

People also tell us way too often: “I’ve tried everything and still can’t get in shape”.

You might have tried everything, but you didn’t follow a SINGLE ONE long enough to see results.

FITNESS ISN’T MAGIC. IT IS WORK.

YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN. PERIOD.

Intermittent fasting and HIIT training for 6 days won’t magically make you drop to 8% bodyfat.

If you’re just starting out and want to lose fat, eat EXACTLY what you currently eat - JUST A BIT LESS.

Cut out anything that is BLATANTLY bad. Entire bags of chips, soda, donuts, that kind of thing.

For now, THAT’S IT. You can learn more and do more later. THAT’S IT!


In terms of working out, don’t worry about anything other than MOVING. Aim for 30-60 minutes a day, 4-6 days a week.

When starting to workout, don’t demolish yourself. Go 60% effort. You want to be able to do it again the next day.

DON’T SLIP. MAINTAIN THAT 4-6 DAYS OR NOTHING WILL WORK.

As far as the workouts themselves, don’t overthink anything.

Just do sets of push-ups and sit ups, burpees, air squats, planks. Go for a fast walk or a slow run, or a run/walk. Go find a hill and run up and down it over and over again.

5ish days a week.

THAT’S IT. THAT IS LITERALLY IT.

Again, as you go you can learn more and do more and get more efficient as time goes on, but starting is the hardest part.

So start small, like that. Give it 4 weeks of that and we PROMISE you that you will start to see results.

Nothing is more motivating than results. Once you see them, you want more.

THEN YOU’RE PAST THE HURDLE.

Then you're good to go, and carry on!
